Come along to the
White Rock Hotel, opposite the Pier in Hastings and grab a bargain as I am selling off a pile of linocut prints at reduced prices to help clear space in the studio! I will be in the seafront meeting room where a bunch of local artists will be displaying and selling their work.
Open from 11am to 5pm.
This is part of the
America Ground festivities that will be happening in the town.

There is not a lot happening on the printmaking front at the moment.
The reason for this is that I'm illustrating a huge book for a South Korean publishing company which looks like it will keep me busy until the new year.
I'm desperate to do more prints though and will get on with them as soon as I can.

Today I will be hanging my prints in Poorboys' Café, Queens Road, Hastings.
As well as prints featured on my website I will be showing a small range of linocut collages and prints enhanced with coloured pencils.
The show will be on for at least a month.

I'm delighted to have signed a temporary lease on
21 Wellington Place, Hastings. This is part of the '
Meanwhile Space' initiative which re-purposes empty shops. I will be sharing the space with several other artists and hope to be in residence several times a week so that visitors can come along and see me working on my latest linocut prints.

I visited the Tunbridge Wells Art Market on Sunday.
A small but perfectly formed market held on (in?) the Pantiles on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
The market will definitely suit my work so I am going to book myself in to the next one and see how it goes.

As they sell very well at my live shows and on my stall I've decided to offer a selection of my most popular greetings cards online. They are blank inside for your own message and are printed onto cream and white card.
They normally retail at £2.50 each but I am offering packs of five for £10 only.

The market on Saturday went rather well. It was a gloriously sunny day in Hastings and I was helped by Tracy my fiancée and my brother Andrew. I sold many more greetings cards than I did printsso I will be selling packs of greetings cards in my
online shop very soon.
My brother Andrew built the stall for me and he made a very good job of it. Here's a pic of him manning the stall.

I've just pulled a test print of my Hastings Fishing Boat.
I'm very pleased with the way this looks - just a couple of very minor tweaks to do tomorrow.
I may even be able to have a few of these available at the PRETTY CRAFTY MARKET (see below).
On August 22nd I will be exhibiting my work at the
PRETTY CRAFTY MARKET.
A dedicated fine art and craft market in Hastings town square.

I've spent the afternoon cutting out my new print Hastings Fishing Boat.
It's quite a graphic image and should print quite nicely.
This cut was suggested by my sister Tracey.
I'll do a test print tomorrow.

I'm now home from a successful, if tiring week at the Hot Houses.
I sold several prints and cards and met many interesting people.
I've taken the plunge and signed up for a stall at the
i-Candy PRETTY CRAFTY 3 Contemporary Art And Craft Market in Hastings Town Square on 22nd August.
Going to concentrate on getting my on-line store up and running this week as I had several enquiries from people who want to buy via the website.

The first couple of days went well.
Splendid displays by all the artists involved. I sold several items, which was nice.

The sunflower has made a very interesting print which I think would work well in several different colours.
This print is in green but I think Brown, Red, orange and Black would work equally well.

My latest print will be of a sunflower. Based on a photograph I took last year in Cromer, Norfolk.
I re-drew, simplified and cropped the image in Photoshop then transferred it to lino with carbon paper ready for cutting.
