Southampton!

I have finally sold my (rather too large) house in Hastings and moved to Southampton.

Things have been quiet on the work front because I have been doing up my new house and making room in my garden for a new studio, which will be finished in late January 2023. I have loads of exciting new projects in mind and cannot wait to get working!

Back in Blighty!

After several very pleasent years of living and working in Malta I returned to England in November - just in time to be stuck in lockdown!

Anyway, now I'm all jabbed up, and most lockdown restrictions have been lifted, I am now back to work and raring to go. So, if you have any illustration projects, big or small, get in touch. cool

I am now in Malta

As of the 1st of June I am now living in Marsaskala, Malta.

I am still able to take on commissions. All work from the UK will be charged in £s, all work in Malta and the rest of Europe will be charged in €s.

Malta bound!

October 2015

I have made a monumental decision! Next summer I will be emigrating to Malta. I've had it with British weather and want to live somewhere warm!

I have been visiting Malta annually for the last five years with the Cartoonists' Club for the MiniCons and I have grown to love the place! The plan is to let out my house in Hastings, (which will give me an income equivalent to the Maltese average wage), and rent an apartment or house in Malta.

As for work, I will continue working, doing what I'm doing now - but without the financial pressure. The internet is a wonderful thing, so it shouldn't affect my work at all.

My ultimate plan is to open a gallery/gift shop selling my own original work and maybe some work from a few other selected artists. As well as prints I will be  investing in a laser engraver (this one: http://glowforge.com/referred/?kid=TOmaVm ) with which I will make my own, branded, unique souvenirs.

So, wish me luck!

Herbert Minestalker

I've just finished the illustration and cover design for Herbert Minestalker, a new kid's fantasy novel.

Lots of News

Article Image

Unfortunately I have been very lazy in updating this news section - apologies for that, i'll try and do better!

I've had quite a busy time of it illustrating several books, being elected Chairman of the Cartoonist's Club of Great Britain and preparing my new summer print show.

My new prints can be seen in the Portfolio section under the Art Prints heading.

Norman Wisdom RIP

Article Image10th October 2010

Well, it's early October already and I now have many more portraits under my belt. Some humorous and some straight. Work wise I've never enjoyed myself so much!

Here is a portrait of Norman Wisdom, which I started on the day after he died. He was one of my all-time comedy heroes and he will be sorely missed.

More Portraits...

29th August 2010

Article ImageI'm REALLY enjoying the portraits and have done several now including Anna Panquin, Ozzy Osbourne and Harrison Ford. The pic on this page is a slightly different Anna Panquin from the one in the Portraits portfolio. Lighter and a bit less moody. I'm not sure which one I prefer really!

My next portrait will be Gok Wan, which will be more caricature.

Peep Show

I'm really enjoying getting stuck in to some humorous portraits at the moment. My favourite so far is the Peep Show image which I've just up loaded to the Caricature and Portraits portfolio.

The picture on this page is a screen grab I took whilst painting it in Photoshop. My next victim will either be Gok Wan or 'The IT Crowd'. I haven't decided yet!

Dr Who

12th August 2010

It was nice to see one of my caricatures get a mention on the Forbidden Planet blog this morning. I did the Matt Smith caricature for the fun competition that is run regularly on the Cartoonists' Club public forums.

You can see the pic in Caricatures and Portraits portfolio.

The new Website

9th August 2010

I hope you like the new look website. There are still a few niggles and graphical bugs to sort out but I think it's nearly there now!
